Small Daddy

Kids really have impressionable minds, right? All the more that I need to remind myself to be careful in what I say, who I say it to, and how I say it.

These days, it's all about being a "small daddy".

Daddy is in black shirt, then he must change to a black shirt, too.

What is daddy eating? Is it a donut? I want to have a bite, too!

Let's eat popcorn and smile like this, dad!

What's that, dad? Can I listen, too?

More anecdotes in another post. Must. sleep. now.

Giddy and Excited (still over a chair... and now a pillow)

This has gotten me over a week to post but still...  I am giddy, happy, skipping to places. I'm like a child given a lollipop.

Why?

One of the blogs I stalk, and one of my DIY idols, young couple Sherry and John of Young House Love posted this on their blog recently.

Check Item #1: the pillow.

I stared hard and long at that pillow. Admiring it. Until it dawned on me.....

Our new dining room chair upholstery is made of the same cloth! The very same.

Yes, this Divisoria bought, P25 (or was it P35) per yard find was on the wish list of my DIY idols.

Hay.

This is really made my day. Scratch. Make that week.

Scratch. Make that year. I end this post with a big, big smile.

The August 8 Flood

If I were to compare it to a friend, Taft Avenue, is an old pal.

Seeing it almost everyday for 17 years  (high school and my stay here at the company I work for), I enjoy walking along the tree-line United Nations Avenue, one of the nicest and cleanest streets along Taft.

But last August 8, it showed its different side. The scary side.

Look at this flood!
Taken from our office at the 5th Floor

Taft Avenue and the bus= parting of the red sea
No shortage of help and kindred spirits

Plaza de Salamanca
Had to ride a padyak on the last stretch of UN Avenue since the flood water is too high for sedans

I need my rain boots and an emergency stash of food, alchohol and towel in the car and at the office.
